HS Concentration Input

This e-mail is for high school teachers,

The attached file is a suggested course of study for each content area of arts education. As you already know, concentrations in a course of study are recommended for high school students in the Future-Ready course of study. To complete a concentration, a student must complete four credits of a course. This will in no way limit that student from taking more than four. In the plan I have developed, those additional courses would be included as “enrichment” courses.

As of now, my colleagues in other content areas have elected not to include concentrations meaning we would be the first and only area with concentrations. Dr. Zwadyk has asked me to develop arts education concentrations for students who choose to complete the concentration. I asked for enough time to get teachers’ input in all areas before I submit this plan to her for approval. Please take a moment to look over your specific area and e-mail me with questions, suggestions, etc. Since you all are the ones who have to live with what we choose, I value your input.
